5 Tips To Successful Blogging

With some 70 Million blogs on online and growing everyday, you need to stay focused and present a professional blog that provides useful information to your readers.  Without question Blogging should be part of your business and marketing plan.  Your blog is a place to communicate with customers and prospects and should be taken very seriously.

Here are five tips to maintaining your blog and making it worth the time and effort you put into it everyday.

1. The content has to be worth the read and of value to your readers, posting miscellaneous ramblings of your personal life will not keep your customers and prospects attention for very long.

2. Proofread, then proofread again – nothing is worst then reading a blog with bad grammar and loads of typos.  Let someone else proof your posts if need be.

3. Brief and to the point – keep your posts short and sweet.  Keeping your posts in the 300 to 500 word range is best, anything more and you may lose your readers.  Most of us don’t have time to read mini novels on a daily bases and most people read several blogs everyday.

4. Do not miss lead your readers with a headline that is not relevant to the content in the post.  Never lie or tap dance around the truth, it will come back to haunt you, most can see right through any BS you might post.

5. Keep your blog current, you must post regularly.  Posting daily is best, but no less then three times a week to keep your readers loyal and coming back for more.  Anything less and you will loose your readers to a competitor that posts more frequently.

Blogging is a great way to keep customers and prospects up on current topics and trends in your industry.  If your posts are of value or even a bit controversial you will get valuable feedback (comments) that will education you and others, really making your blog a source of valuable information.
