One of my favorite movies is “Jerry Maguire”, for me the movie hits a cord on just about every emotion. On of the many quotes that stand out is “The key to this business is personal relationships.” – The late Dicky Fox “the original sports agent”.
If you focus on building just 250 strong relationships you will have a network that expands into the thousands, which will lead to sales beyond your wildest dreams.
Here are a few ways you can start building strong personal relationships with prospects, customers and even friends and family.
- Increase your response time to emails and phone calls, prompt follow up is very important.
- Show genuine concern in work challenges that your prospects and customers face.
- Call, email or send a greeting card from time to time with no agenda. Simply stay connected, add some value or offer some interesting facts about their industry.
- Identify important dates, company anniversaries, birthdays, etc.
- Send a referral to your customer or prospect.
- Stop by and drop off coffee, donuts or have lunch delivered.
Using these simple techniques will build relationships that will drive business to you almost effortlessly.
