<p>When you have a client in your store/business making a purchase, before the transaction is completed ask them how they would like 5% or 10% off this purchase (or a set dollar amount) – Right Now! Have them text “your keyword” to 90210 right in front of you or your employees – give them the discount and you now have a new addition to your database to continue to market to and up-sell to for future business. The key to remember is “What’s In It For Me” if you make it worth your clients time and effort they will gladly join your Mobile VIP Club.</p>
<h1><strong>DON’T FORGET</strong></h1>
<p>Be sure to ALWAYS include your phone number (with area code) in your call to action text messages – most smartphones generate a quick link to auto dial your number, if you don’t make it easy you are losing out on sales – if you are not looking for calls be sure to include your web address or Facebook page url.</p>

I have produced several videos for clients and usually just drop in some snappy music and call it a day. But the more I start digging into the production of marketing videos I am realizing that Voice-Overs really do take a marketing video to the next level.</p>
<p>Voice-Overs improve viewer engagement and keep their attention far longer than videos with just a music track – in turn leading the viewer to remember your company’s products and services – leading to sales and referrals. Many studies have made the connection between the human attention span and what captures an individual&#8217;s interest and keeps it. Some of these studies find without question that merging sensory components, such as visuals and a strong voice, will increase and keep the viewer’s attention much longer.</p>

<p>Today I am bringing you my top 7 secrets to successful marketing. I will admit that I had trouble sticking to only 7 so I am going to assume that you have read previous issues where I have stressed how important it is to have defined your target market; why you should always keep it simple (business does not have to be complicated); know the importance of building relationships with prospects; and why you are the only person who can write any advertising and promotional material for your business.</p>

<p><strong>1. You must have a database</strong> &#8211; this will prove to be the key to your success. Your database should contain as much information about your clients and prospective clients as possible so that you can contact them with details of new products and special offers. Of course having a database alone is not enough, you must be constantly following up with leads and building relationships so that in time prospects will choose to buy from you.</p>
<p><strong>2. Attract new clients</strong> <strong>and keep the interest of existing clients by using PR.</strong> Public relations does not have to be expensive or difficult and you can do it yourself without employing an expensive PR agency. What you need to remember is that every interview you give or article you write, must contain your contact details. Other great ways to raise your profile include writing a book or publishing a report.</p>
<p><strong>3. Offer promotions</strong> that give people the chance to try your product or service and make your company stand out from the competition. These promotions must be exciting in order to make potential customers want to take immediate action &#8211; for example, there are not many people who can resist a &#8216;buy one, get one free&#8217; offer. Here it is important that you have higher priced products to up-sell in order to make it financially worthwhile offering promotions. What you need to remember is that the promotional offers that are the most successful are those that have a time limit so tell prospective clients what they need to do and how little time they have in which to do it.</p>
<p><strong>4. Get your clients to do your sales and marketing for you by asking them for referrals and testimonials</strong> &#8211; if they are impressed with your product or service then they will want to tell others. The easiest way to do this is when a customer compliments you on your product or service; ask if you can quote them. Write down what they said and ask them to agree it and then use it.</p>
<p><strong>5. For your marketing to really be successful, you need to show your target audience that you are an expert in your field and there are many ways of doing this</strong> &#8211; one of the quickest is to be a published author.</p>
<p><strong>6. Effective marketing is far more important and cost effective than a large sales team.</strong> A well worded direct mailing to targeted customers can produce great results especially when accompanied with a time limited promotion. If potential clients want more personal contact then you could try offering a teleconference but be sure to follow up afterwards.</p>
<p><strong>7. This should probably be up at number 1,</strong> you must niche your product or service if you want to succeed. The 80:20 rule also applies in marketing. It is highly likely that 20% of your income comes from 80% of your customers. This means that since most of your income comes from 20% of your customers, it is this 20% that you really have to focus on even if it is to the expense of the other 80%.</p>
<p>And of course, if you really want your marketing to be a success, your reason for being in business must be more than just taking money from people in return for your products of services &#8211; you must provide outstanding customer service that people will not find elsewhere!</p>

Will you be directing prospects to a page on your web-site, offering a show special or coupon or simply providing all your contact information.<br />

The goal of both swappers is to offer something worthy of getting your partners list to click over to your website or blog and subscribe to your list.</p>
<p>Each and every Ad Swap you do will be different; each party wants to ensure they are getting the same value they are providing in regards to the quality and size of the lists they swap with. It’s best if you have a relationship with webmasters and bloggers that you can leverage verse trying to cold call on a list owner. <p>We spend advertising dollars to generate an action. As business owners the desired action is someone clicking on a web link, calling to place an order or coming in to buying something.</p>

<p>By understanding if customers respond to your advertising and how, you can increase the productivity of your marketing efforts. But to determine customer behavior you must use some kind of tracking mechanism to validate the performance of your advertising. You can then compare and contrast different Ad campaigns to determine which one generates the best response.</p>
<p>For example, sellers that use print media track the response to their display Ads to determine which Ads work, which headlines get a better response and which products sell. For an on-line Ad, you typically measure response rate by the number of click-throughs&#8211;how many people click on your Ad.</p>
<p>Tracking Ads that drive people to call or shop at a brick &amp; mortar store can be as simple as asking, &#8220;How did you hear about us?&#8221; or putting something in your Ad like, &#8220;mention this Ad and get 10% off.&#8221; You tally people&#8217;s responses to determine which Ad or which medium produced better results.</p>
<p>There are two possibilities when an Ad generates little or no response: it didn&#8217;t generate enough interest or excitement; or the Ad didn&#8217;t reach your targeted audience.Money spent on messages that reach the wrong audience or that don&#8217;t produce the desired action is wasted.</p>
<p>Change the headline, Ad copy, graphics or layout and re-test the Ad. Maybe it&#8217;s a great Ad, but in the wrong medium or publication. Make a change and analyze the results.</p>
<p>Tracking Ad response is only the first step; the next step is to determine which Ads convert into the most sales-the conversion rate. Of the people who click, call or come in, how many make a purchase and for what amount?</p>
<p>By analyzing the response and conversion rate for each Ad and comparing that to its cost, you&#8217;ll know each Ad&#8217;s effectiveness. Fine-tune Ad elements or placement and re-test to optimize effectiveness and eliminate marketing budget waste.</p>
<p>Back in the pre-Internet days, I owned a company that relied heavily on Yellow Page advertising. We tracked Ad response down to the book our customer saw the Ad in. We were only able to make changes once a year and the Ads were expensive, so tracking Ads was critical. After analyzing our tracking results, we reduced our Yellow Page placements by 75-percent without any reduction in revenue.</p>
<p>Today, our advertising is all Internet-based and we use Google Analytics and Google Adwords to track click-throughs and response rates on a daily basis. We can quickly and easily add or eliminate Ads, compare Ads side-by-side and be much more responsive and effective with our marketing budget. I think Mr. Wanamaker would be impressed.</p>

<p>You would think that <a title="Building A Relationship" href="http://sendcardsblog.com/relationship-building-strategy" target="_blank">building a relationship</a> with a client would be easy and come naturally to most businesses but it does not. In fact many businesses are terrible at building relationships.</p>
<p><strong>Why?</strong></p>
<p>Because they fail to do the one thing that they have to do in order to develop a good, solid, long lasting relationship and that is to make a connection.</p>
<p>A client wants nothing more than to feel that their needs, wants and concerns are cared about and that they will be cared about in the process. A client isn&#8217;t stupid either. They will know if you are just going thru the motio</p>

<p>ns or if you are genuine. They can tell if you really care about them or if you just want their check to clear. The cliché &#8220;fake it till you make it&#8221; won&#8217;t work for you in this instance. Your client has a choice and you want to be their choice every time hands down.</p>
<p>Think about it. How many times have you walked into a business and felt like you mattered? An even scarier question, how many times have you walked into a business and knew immediately that you didn&#8217;t matter at all?</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>There are companies small and large that do this beautifully. You know the ones. There&#8217;s the coffer shop that has your drink made before you even step thru the door. The car wash that remembers your favorite fresh car smell and makes sure that the driver&#8217;s seat is always put back in your favorite spot before you get in to drive away. And even the online store that ships your orders to you next day for free.</p>
<p>You go back to these places and would never consider going anywhere else because you have a connection with them and know that your needs, wants and ultimately your happiness matters to them. That you matter to them.</p>
<p><strong>So how do you make a strong, solid, long lasting connection?</strong></p>
<p><strong>1. Create Outrageous Value</strong> &#8211; Give your client over the top outrageous value. Deliver above and beyond their expectations and deliver more than you promise to the point that they think WOW every time they interact with you or your business.</p>
<p><strong>2. Ask Them What They Want</strong> &#8211; Don&#8217;t sit and wonder what your client wants or needs or worse yet think you already know. Check in them to make sure you are both on the same page. Ask them what they want from you and then give it to them.</p>
<p><strong>3. Listen When They Talk</strong> &#8211; You client knows better than anyone what you need to do to connect with them. So ask them constantly. Check in verbally often and then take action on what they tell you. If you don&#8217;t&#8217; they will know you really don&#8217;t care and feel you aren&#8217;t listening to them.</p>

<p><strong>4. Atmosphere</strong> &#8211; Make sure that the culture and atmosphere in your company makes your clients feel welcome and cared about. Even if your business doesn&#8217;t have a retail store front and you only talk to clients on the phone this is vital. Atmosphere is portrayed in your décor, cleanliness, tone of voice, words, smile, actions and location of a retail establishment. Be sure it says you matter.</p>
<p><strong>5. Education Based Marketing</strong> &#8211; Your client is not a mindless drone. They are a person who wants to be able to do the right thing and make an informed decision when it comes to spending their money. So it is your job to inform them why your business is the best place for them to spend their money and there is no better way to do that than to educate them about your product, service, etc. and what they need to be looking for from you. It&#8217;s a great way to ethically brag about yourself and your business while creating reciprocity with your clients.</p>
<p><strong>6. Be Ethical</strong> &#8211; Creating a strong company culture that always puts ethics first. If you want a relationship and connection with your clients then they have to know, like and trust you. Never waver on this. If a client feels treated badly and let&#8217;s face it, this can happen in the best of businesses, fix it immediately. Once you have lost a client&#8217;s trust it can be all but impossible to earn it back.</p>
<p>Gone are the days of transactions in business. Clients are way savvier than that and demand that you earn their respect and their money by being in a relationship with them. And the good news is that there are so many terrible businesses out there doing just the opposite that they actually make it quite easy for someone like you that cares and wants to connect to swoop in and be the hero.</p>
