Promotional products for elections have been documented back in the 1800’s, with presidential hopefuls adding their names to packs of cigarettes, hair brushes, sewing boxes and even parasols.
Fast forward to 2008 and you will find that political campaign buttons are by far the most popular election promotional item, right next to bumper stickers and lawn signs. The final numbers will not be made public until well after the November 4th election, but I am sure that 2008 will be a record setting year for the amount of money spent on election promo items.
