Great Relationships equal SALES

Most sales professionals look at landing a sale with the belief “I have to create a good relationship.”  The paradox is that great relationships are the outcome of everything done right!  Building a great relationship does take some work; here are some tips to consider when you are working on building relationships that will lead to a sale.

Don’t Over Schmooze!  Your prospects are not dumb and they know when someone is genuine or schmoozer.  Most salespeople practice schmoozing and it always backfires, prospects put they guard up even more so.

Be Concerned About Your Prospect – Ask questions that really show you care and are interested in their business.  Don’t just shot the breeze hoping you will find a topic that connects with your prospect.  If you talk to prospects about stuff they are concerned about the connection will come naturally.

Reaching Goals First and Foremost – Sure people do business with people they like.  But they will often turn their business to someone that is trying to help them achieve a goal verse someone they have befriended.

Listen First Ask Questions Second – if you listen to your prospects you will then know what questions to focus on asking, this will help you to help them achieve their goals.

Do these simple things and you will create great relationships, successfully, promptly and the sales will follow with little effort.
