New Eco-Friendly Tote Bag Made From Water Bottles

A new Tote has been introduced that is constructed from 51% post-consumer Eco-Friendly Tote Bagrecycled PET.  What is PET you ask – I didn’t know either!  PET stands for Polyethylene Terephthalate, which is a type of plastic commonly used in water bottles.  The water bottles are recycled by breaking them down into flakes, and then the flakes are spun into yarn.

Crazy as that sounds it is pretty incredible that you can get yarn from a plastic water bottle.  The yarn created is then used to produce products like the TranSport It Tote (Bic – AP8400ECO).  This tote has a polyurethane backing (not PVC) and meet the highest international product safety standards.

The TranSport It Tote is reasonably priced at $11.00 which includes a one color imprint (plus a $50 set-up).  For an up charge the Eco-Friendly Tote Bags can be embroidered.  Available in Rain (Blue), Grass (Green), and Black, the tote measures 17” x 14” x 5”.  Other features include:

  • Shoulder Length Handles
    Zippered Main Compartment
    Front Slip Pocket
Pen and Business Card Pockets on Front
    Mesh Water Bottle Pocket
    Side Cell Phone Pocket

This is a great employee recognition item or a perfect item to thank your valued customers with this holiday season, while showing your company is “Going Green”.

That is not only a great use of a a new fiber, but helps eliminate the millions of water bottles that are out there. Can this be recyled again?
