When the Colorado Springs Airport was planning a grand opening event, they wanted to maximize the attendance of the event. The marketing team sent out Pop-up invitations to over 1,000 travel agency owners and community leaders. Dining and Whining were featured as the campaign slogan. The invite have a microchip embedded in it that roared the sound of a jet taking off.
Everyone that attended the event received a custom imprinted pen with “Fly Colorado Springs” printed on it. All the airport employees wore custom imprinted t-shirts sporting the company’s logo and slogan. To further back the event logoed zipper pulls were later mailed to travel agents and handed out at various ski shows.
The event attracted over 50,000, double the number expected. The promotion also received an award of excellence from the Promotional Products Association.
