Straightforward Ways To Generate Leads

If you are in any type of sales you know that prospecting is a necessary evil.  There is some skill involved in prospecting, but for the most part it comes down to basic effort.  You must be dedicated and persistent or you will not be successful at prospecting.

Here are some quick and easy tips to help your prospecting efforts.

Your current customers are a great source for meeting new people, you just have to ask.  It is standard practice to get a client to refer you, but ask your current clients to introduce you to an associate that may be in need of your products or services.  This will build credibility and a rapport with the new prospect.

Find companies with products and services that complement your product or service.  If you share contacts and cross market both of your companies will benefit from your marketing efforts.

Revisit old leads or contacts you have made over the years.  You never know when a new buyer has replaced the contact you made in the past.  New budgets may also be in place giving you an opportunity to do business with a prospect you made contact with in the past.

If you are targeting a specific business model, for instance Attorney’s, develop a free report or seminar that will benefit them specifically.  You could also email tips targeted at the specific types of prospects you are interested in.

Being creative when you prospect will get you noticed, using a promotional product with your efforts will defiantly get you noticed over another business that is prospecting to the same market.

Prospecting is an important element to your sales success. If you make a consistent effort your success will be inevitable.
